China’s CSPCL stops PG production on poor sales

SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Chinese propylene glycol (PG) maker CNOOC and Shell Petrochemicals Co Ltd (CSPCL) has stopped production at their jointly-owned plant on the back of poor sales, a company source said on Friday. 

“The plant was stopped at the end of May and we will keep it closed for this month,” added the source in Mandarin.

The plant in Huizhou, southern China, has an annual output of 60,000 tonnes of PG. CSPCL is a joint venture between oil majors CNOOC and Shell.
