HOUSTON (ICIS news)--US chemical shipper ChemLogix has acquired 20 new tank containers for transporting bulk liquids long distances by truck and rail, the company said on Friday.
ChemLogix said the tank containers provide an alternative to strictly long-haul truck transport by combining truck and rail shipping.
Moving tank containers by train takes 280 trucks off the highway, not only reducing traffic congestion and pollution but also saving fuel, said Stephen Hamilton, ChemLogix managing director.
Based in Blue Bell, Pennsylvania, ChemLogix provides logistics management and technology-services and supply-chain consulting to the chemical industry. To discuss issues facing the chemical industry go to ICIS connect
