HOUSTON (ICIS news)--Here is Tuesday’s end of day Americas oil and chemical market summary from ICIS pricing.
CRUDE: July WTI: $70.01/bbl, up $1.92; July Brent: $69.62/bbl, up $1.74
Crude prices spiked in after-hours electronic trading, extending the gains posted during the normal floor session. July West Texas Intermediate (WTI) rallied to $70.45/bbl and showed signs of rising further after the weekly supply statistics from the American Petroleum Institute (API) revealed a drawdown in crude stocks that was much greater than forecast and refined products inventories building less than expected.
NATURAL GAS: $3.731/MMBtu, no change
Natural gas prices were stable despite higher energy values.
RBOB: $1.9667/gal, up 3.07 cents
Reformulated gasoline blendstock for oxygenate blending (RBOB) futures prices rose during the trading session on rising crude futures.
BENZENE: Benzene barges for June were talked higher at $2.79-2.84/gal DDP (delivered, duty paid) on the back of Asian demand for derivative imports.
ETHYLENE: US spot ethylene for June was offered on Tuesday at 25.5 cents/lb with no bids reported. Ethylene last traded at 24.0 cents/lb on Monday.
PROPYLENE: US spot refinery-grade propylene (RGP) was notionally assessed at 34-35 cents/lb on Tuesday. RGP for June delivery last traded at 34.50 cents/lb on 4 June.
