German polyamide yarn firm Laufaron files for insolvency

TORONTO (ICIS news)--Laufaron GmbH, a Germany-based producer of polyamide 6-BCF (bulked continuous filament) yarns, has filed for insolvency with a court in Cottbus, Brandenburg state, according to a court notice on Tuesday.

Laufaron, which employs a staff of over 100 at its site in Guben, Brandenburg, is described as a leading European polyamide 6-spinning company.

The court appointed lawyer Rolf-Dieter Monning of Cottbus as interim solvency administrator, it said, but did not disclose further details.

In recent weeks, the industry had seen insolvency filings by a number of producers, including Trevira, Unylon and TFG Thuringer Filamente.
