SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Cristal Global announced late-Wednesday that it will increase prices of all its anatase and rutile titanium dioxide (TiO2) products sold in Asia Pacific and Latin America.

Prices in Asia Pacific and Latin America, except for Brazil, would increase by $100/tonne (€72/tonne) and $200/tonne respectively, effective July 1, 2009, a company source said. Prices in Brazil will increase by $100/tonne.

The company is the last major TiO2 producer to publicly announce a price hike in Asia. DuPont Titanium Technologies, ISK, Kronos and Tronox have all proposed $50-100/tonne price increases in the past month.

Recovering TiO2 demand and poor production margins were the main factors that pushed TiO2 producers to raise prices, industry sources said.
