SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Asia’s largest phenol-acetone producer, Mitsui Chemicals, plans to shut its plant in Osaka, Japan, on 4 July for scheduled maintenance, a company official said on Monday.
The plant, which produces 200,000 tonnes/year of phenol and 120,000 tonnes/year of acetone, would remain off line until 30 July, the official added.
The firm also runs two plants in Chiba. One produces 230,000 tonnes/year of phenol and 80,000 tonnes/year of acetone, and the other has a nameplate capacity of 190,000 tonnes/year of phenol and 114,000 tonnes/year of acetone.
