NOON SNAPSHOT - Asia Markets summary

SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Here is Tuesday's mid-day Asia oil and chemical market summary from ICIS pricing.

CRUDE: Aug WTI $72.87/bbl up $1.38/bbl Aug BRENT $72.72/bbl up $1.73/bbl

Crude futures hit new eight month highs on Tuesday. Prices soared on a combination of news of further attacks on oil installations in Nigeria by militants and technically driven trade

NAPHTHA: Asian naphtha prices opened $20/tonne higher Tuesday. First half August price indications were pegged at $629.50-632.50/tonne CFR (cost and freight) Japan, second half August at $623.50-626.50/tonne CFR Japan and first half September at $619.00-622.00/tonne CFR Japan.

BENZENE: Prices were higher at about $810-820/tonne FOB (free on board) Korea on Tuesday morning supported by increases in crude values. Bids for any August lifting cargoes were heard at $810-815/tonne FOB Korea.

TOLUENE: Prices shot up to $780-790/tonne FOB Korea in line with higher crude values. An offer for any August loading at $795/tonne FOB Korea met a bid at $775/tonne FOB Korea.
