HOUSTON (ICIS news)--Dow Chemical said on Thursday it completed the expansion of its specialty polyol capacity at the company’s ?xml:namespace>
The additional capacity will support growing demand for end-use polyurethanes products and polyurethane systems formulations in
“Sustained market needs in specialty products have been a driving factor in this capability enhancement,” Dow Polyurethanes global director for polyols Doug Warner said.
Dow did not reveal the cost of the capacity addition nor its current capacity.
Polyols are a feedstock used in polyurethane (PU) foam production. PU foam is used in a broad range of applications including construction, automotive, appliance, furniture, bedding, shoe soles, decorative moulding and athletic equipment.
