GUANGZHOU (ICIS new)--Jilin Petrochemical, a subsidiary of PetroChina, has recently kicked off the construction of its yuan (CNY)80m new acrylonitrile (ACN) unit that would raise its total ACN capacity to 420,000 tonne/year, a company source said on Friday.

“Presently, we're running [our] 212,000 tonne/year ACN facility at full load. The new unit may start operation in one or two years,” he said.

Construction of the plant in China's northeastern province of Jilin would take around 13 months to complete, the source said.
