SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Japan’s Asahi Glass Co (AGC) is running its propylene oxide (PO) plant in Kashima at full operating rates after restarting it in mid-June, a company source said on Monday.

The 110,000 tonne/year plant was shut down from May to mid-June for a planned annual turnaround, the source added.

PO is used in the manufacture of polyols and mono propylene glycol (MPG).

Major producers of PO in Asia include Japan’s Nihon Oxirane Co, Korea’s SKC and China’s Shandong Binhua.
