SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Pingmei & Lantian Chemicals (P&L) is currently running its 200,000 tonne/year natural gas-based methanol plant in Suiping, central China at 70% of capacity after a week-long maintenance shutdown, said a company source on Wednesday.

The plant was taken off line in the middle of June.

P&L's 330,000 tonne/year unit in Zhumadian, also located in the Henan province, has remained shut.

Other methanol producers in China include China National Offshore Oil Corp (CNOOC) and Boyuan United Chemical.
