EVENING SNAPSHOT - Asia Markets Summary

SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Here is Monday’s end-of-day Asia oil and chemical market summary from ICIS pricing.

CRUDE: Aug WTI $64.52/bbl, up 96 cents; Sep BRENT $66.26/bbl, up 88 cents

Crude futures rallied through Monday’s afternoon trade, tracking gains in global equity markets. A weakened US dollar coupled with worries over a developing tropical cyclone in the central Atlantic provided price support.

NAPHTHA: Asian naphtha prices closed $20/tonne firmer Monday. First half September price indications were pegged at $573.50-574.50/tonne CFR (cost and freight) Japan, second half September at $572.50-573.50/tonne CFR Japan and first half October at $571.50-572.50/tonne CFR Japan.

BENZENE: Prices were at about $855-865/tonne FOB (free on board) Korea, stable-to-firm from last Friday’s close, with deals for H1 and H2 August loading confirmed at $865/tonne FOB Korea.

TOLUENE: Prices were hovering at about $760/tonne FOB Korea level with a bid heard for H2 August loading at $765/tonne FOB Korea. Offers for September at $770-775/tonne FOB Korea was countered by a bid at $760/tonne FOB Korea.
