SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Here is Tuesday’s mid-day Asia oil and chemical market summary from ICIS pricing.

CRUDE: Aug WTI: $63.80/bbl, down 18 cents; Sep Brent: $65.81/bbl, down 63 cents

Crude future steadied near the $64/bbl mark on an expectation for a drop in US weekly crude inventories due later in the day. The weaker US dollar and a continued optimism for economic recovery also provided some price support.

NAPHTHA: Asian naphtha prices opened slightly firmer Tuesday. First half September price indications were pegged at $575.50-578.50/tonne CFR (cost and freight) Japan, second half September at $574.50-577.50/tonne CFR Japan and first half October at $573.50-576.50/tonne CFR Japan.

BENZENE: Prices slipped to $850-860/tonne FOB (free on board) Korea as offers for September loading parcels at $856-860/tonne FOB Korea were countered by bids at $850-852/tonne FOB Korea.

TOLUENE: Prices for September loading cargoes were firmer with an offer heard at $800/tonne FOB Korea countered by a bid at $775/tonne FOB Korea.
