EVENING SNAPSHOT - Asia Markets Summary

SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Here is Tuesday’s end-of-day Asian oil and chemical market summary from ICIS pricing.

CRUDE: August WTI $64.09/bbl up 11 cents September BRENT $66.51/bbl up 7 cents

Crude futures crawled back towards the $64/bbl mark in Tuesday’s afternoon trade as eyes fall onto the weekly US crude inventory data due later. The August WTI contracts will expire by the end of the day.

At 4:30pm Singapore time (0830 GMT), the Dubai Mercantile Exchange (DME) September Oman futures contract settled at $64.95/bbl.

NAPHTHA: Asian naphtha prices closed slightly firmer Tuesday. First half September price indications were pegged at $575.50-576.50/tonne CFR (cost and freight) Japan, second half September at $574.50-575.50/tonne CFR Japan and first half October at $573.50-574.50/tonne CFR Japan.

BENZENE: Prices eased to $840-850/tonne FOB (free on board) Korea with two deals reported for September loading at $845-850/tonne FOB Korea. Offers slipped to $845/tonne FOB Korea for September that met a bid at $840/tonne FOB Korea.

TOLUENE: Prices were stable-to-firm at $760-775/tonne FOB Korea amid lacklustre buying interest. Offers for September parcels were cited at $778-790/tonne FOB Korea and at $780/tonne FOB Korea for second half August lifting.
