SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--French industrial gas supplier Air Liquide has started up two air separation units at Zhanjiagang, in eastern China's Jiangsu province, the firm said on Thursday.

The units, which each have a capacity of 4,000 tonnes/day of gaseous oxygen, will supply oxygen, nitrogen and argon to Shagang Group's steel mills at Zhanjiagang, the company said.

"These two units will also supply other local industrial customers with gaseous and liquid products," the company added.

Air Liquide invested a total of €90m ($128.5m) in the two gas units, which was first announced in March 2007.
