HOUSTON (ICIS news)--Global producer Methanex on Tuesday nominated its August North American methanol contract prices at 72 cents/gal ($239/tonne, €167/tonne), a 4-cent hike from its July rates.
The increase came as no surprise to market players, as most were expecting to see a rise due to higher spot prices.
US methanol spot prices were at 66-69 cents/gal FOB (free on board) USG (US Gulf), according to data from global chemical market intelligence service ICIS pricing.
($1 = €0.70)
