Metafrax H1 net profit falls 75% to Rb248m, sales down 42%

MOSCOW (ICIS news)--Russian methanol producer Metafrax posted a first-half net profit of rouble (Rb) 248m ($7.5m, €5.5m), down 75% year on year, according to a statement released by the company on Wednesday.

In the January-June period, the company's net sales dropped 42% year on year to Rb2.531bn, the statement said.

Metafrax is Russia's largest methanol producer and exporter. It is based in Gubakha, in northern Russia’s Perm region.

In 2007, Metafrax raised its methanol capacity to 1m tonnes/year.
