LONDON (ICIS news)--European refined spot glycerine prices have fallen by €20/tonne ($29/tonne) due to weak demand, buyers and sellers said on Wednesday.

UK spot prices fell by £20/tonne ($34/tonne), sources said.

Tallow-grade spot material was priced at €300-330/tonne FD (free delivered) NWE (northwest Europe), while vegetable product was at €320-350/tonne FD NWE, sources said.

UK spot prices were at £255-285/tonne FD UK for tallow and £280-300/tonne FD UK for vegetable grade, according to sources.

The crude glycerine spot price was also reduced by €10/tonne to a range of €100-130/tonne FD NWE due to the supply-demand ratio.

“There were far too many volumes on the market for both refined and crude glycerine and not enough demand,” one seller said.
