SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Taiwanese bisphenol A (BPA) producer Chang Chun Petrochemical will start production at its new 135,000 tonne/year BPA line located at Kaohsiung in early September, a company source said on Thursday.
This would bring its total BPA capacity to 270,000 tonnes/year, doubling its existing production volume and increasing overall spot availability to the key Chinese market, the source said.
“We currently don’t have enough BPA for our own captive downstream epoxy units, so until the new line starts, we are still in a buying position,” he said in Mandarin.
