LONDON (ICIS news)--German producer BASF will shut down its Ludwigshafen butanol plant for approximately 10 days of annual maintenance in September, a company source said on Friday.
The unit, which has a 450,000 tonne/year capacity, would go down around 10-12 September, according to the source.
Contract customers would not be affected by the shutdown as stocks were being built up in preparation, the source said.
However, ahead of the shutdown, BASF had been limiting its participation in the spot market.
