Jobs increase at big firms, fall at SMEs
Nominal wages for the country's major business corporations increased in the first half of the year from a year earlier, yet quality of life for the companies' employees deteriorated, industry officials said yesterday. According to a recent report by the Seoul-based stock market research firm FnGuide, the average annual income at the nation's top 100 manufacturers was 26.18 million won ($21,130) in the first half, a 2.89 percent increase year-on-year.
