SINGAPORE (ICIS news) -- Taiwan’s Formosa Petrochemical Corp (FPCC) will shut down its butadiene (BD) unit at its No 1 cracker for planned maintenance in September, a company source said on Tuesday.

The 110,000 tonne/year BD unit will be taken off line simultaneously with the 700,000 tonne/year cracker next month and the shutdown will last 45 days, the source added.

FPCC also runs a 160,000 tonne/year BD extraction unit at its 1.03 m tonne/year No 2 cracker and a 176,000 tonne/year BD unit at its 1.2 m tonne/year No 3 cracker at Mailiao in Taiwan.
