SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Formosa-Idemitsu Petrochemical (FIPC) plans to shut its polycarbonate (PC) units at Mailiao, Taiwan, in the second half of September for a month-long scheduled maintenance, a company source said on Thursday.

The producer operates three lines at the same site. The No 1 and No 2 units have annual capacities of 60,000 tonnes/year each, while the No 3 unit can produce 75,000 tonnes/year of PC. All three units are running at full rates to build up inventories, the source added.

FIPC is a joint venture between Formosa Chemical & Fibre Corp (FCFC)  and Japan’s Idemitsu Corp.
