SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Taiwan-based Nan Ya Plastics Corp will restart one of its Mailiao-based phthalic anhydride (PA) units next week after a shutdown for a catalyst change, a company source said on Friday.

The 50,000 tonne/year PA unit was taken offline in early August and was expected to restart production towards the end of the month, he added.

The company also operates three more PA lines, which were reported to be running at present.

Some of the other key PA producers in the region are Taiwan’s UPC and South Korea’s Aekyung Petrochemical.
