HOUSTON (ICIS news)--US fuel ethanol production in June rose by about 3.9% over May as demand for the renewable fuel increased, the US Energy Information Administration (EIA) said on Friday.
About 694,000 bbl/day of ethanol was blended into the US fuel supply in June, compared with 669,400 bbl/day in May, the EIA said in its monthly Petroleum Supply Report.
The increase came amid the start of the summer driving season and decreased costs for corn, the main feedstock for US ethanol.
