Iran’s Kharg Petrochemical restarts methanol plant

SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Iran’s Kharg Petrochemical Company restarted its 660,000 tonne/year natural gas-based methanol plant in Kharg late last week, a company source said on Wednesday.

The plant was taken off line on 22 July to change its catalyst and solve all its other technical problems. The scheduled maintenance turnaround lasted about 40 days, the source said.

Other methanol producers in the Middle East include Sabic and National Petrochemical Company.
