HOUSTON (ICIS news)--Dow Chemical said on Friday it would begin maintenance on a propylene pipeline at its Freeport complex in Texas.

The procedure was expected to last though 20 October, Dow said in a filing with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ).

The pipeline will be cleared, inspected and re-commissioned, the company said in the public filing.

A Dow spokesperson declined to comment on the filing, citing company policy.

Dow has two olefins units in Freeport with a combined capacity of 1.65m tonnes/year.

The company also produces acetone, benzene, caustic soda and a range of other chemicals at the site.
