SHANGHAI (ICIS news)--China will continue to levy anti-dumping duties on styrene butadiene rubber (SBR) imports from Japan, South Korea and Russia for another five years, starting from 8 September 2009, the Ministry of Commerce said in a statement released on Monday.
After its one-year final judicial review, the ministry said SBR imports from the three countries would hurt the domestic SBR industry if the duties were not levied.
Four domestic SBR producers – Qilu Petrochemical, Shenhua Chemical Industry Co, Jilin Petrochemical and Lanzhou Petrochemical – submitted a petition to the ministry on 10 June 2008.
Domestic producers pressed the government to carry out a final investigation into extending the duties after SBR imports from the three countries received anti-dumping duties from 2003 to 2008, the ministry said.
