Japan’s Mitsubishi plans MIBK plant turnaround in June 2010

SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Japan’s Mitsubishi Chemical plans to shut its 20,000 tonne/year methyl isobutyl ketone (MIBK) plant at Mizushima, Okayama prefecture, for an annual turnaround in June-July 2010, a company official said on Tuesday.

The facility was taken off line in the same period this year.

MIBK is mainly used as a solvent for industrial paints and in the production of rubber chemicals.
