LONDON (ICIS news)--Marijn Dekkers has been appointed as CEO of Bayer but will not take on the role until 1 October 2010, the German chemical and pharmaceutical company said on Tuesday.
Current CEO Werner Wenning will extend his contract until 30 September 2010, the company said in a statement.
Dekkers is currently the president and CEO of US laboratory equipment manufacture Thermo Fisher Scientific. He will join the Bayer Management Board on 1 January and will serve as Bayer Healthcare CEO during the transition, the company added.
Werner Baumann, who currently sits on the Board of Management and Bayer Healthcare’s executive committee, has been appointed as CFO from 30 April 2010.
Current CFO Klaus Kuhn will take early retirement, the company said.
