ExxonMobil starts work on Baytown refinery FCC

HOUSTON (ICIS news)--ExxonMobil on Tuesday commenced shutdown procedures for planned maintenance on a gasoline-making fluid catalytic cracking unit (FCC) at its 567,000 bbl/day Baytown refinery in Texas.

According to a public filing with Texas state regulators, ExxonMobil took down the No. 3 FCC unit for planned work and said that “all customer needs are expected to be met”.

The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) filing indicated that the process at the largest refinery in the US would conclude on 17 September.

The company was unavailable for comment.
