HOUSTON (ICIS news)--US specialty chemicals maker Cytec Industries cited increasing feedstock costs and a tight supply/demand balance as its reason for raising its fourth-quarter list prices for melamine by 6 cents/lb ($132/tonne, €90/tonne), the New Jersey-based company said on Thursday.
Cytec said its new price list was to be effective on 1 October.
The 6 cents/lb increase represents about a 9% increase over Cytec’s third-quarter prices.
Melamine makers DSM and Borealis Agrolinz have yet to announce intentions for fourth-quarter prices.
($1 = €0.68)
