LONDON (ICIS news)--German chemicals distributor KRAHN CHEMIE said on Thursday that it expected its new site in Poznan, Poland, to be fully staffed and operational by November 1.

After more than a decade of working in the rapidly-growing Polish market through collaboration with its sister company ALBIS PLASTIC, the company said it had decided the business had grown sufficiently to establish its own site.

"Poland is one of the biggest markets in Eastern Europe, with a key function for the neighbouring Baltic states,” said Jorg Schottek, managing director of KRAHN CHEMIE.

“Strengthening our local presence will allow us to even more closely focus in the future on the increasing shift to higher value and innovative products that is taking place in these markets," said Schottek.

The subsidiary, KRAHN CHEMIE Polska, was founded on July 27, and will focus on supplying the paint and coatings, construction chemicals, adhesives and sealants, and plastic and rubber processing market segments.

A 10-strong team will work at the site.
