SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Mitsubishi Chemical (India)’s intends to start its new 800,000 tonne/year purified terephthalic acid (PTA) plant in Haldia, India, by the end of September, a company official said on Thursday.
“We are currently working on it (the startup), and our internal target is to start by the end of the month,” the official said, adding that technical difficulties had delayed the start-up considerably.
The company had originally notified its customers that the plant would start up today, a source close to the company told ICIS news.
Mitsubishi operates another 480,000 tonne/year PTA production line located at the same site.
