SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Thailand’s PTT Chemical has postponed the turnaround at its 460,000 tonne/year ethane cracker at Mab Ta Phut to January 2010, a source close to the company said on Tuesday.
The turnaround, which had been scheduled for October, was postponed due to a delay in the start-up of the firm's new 1m tonne/year ethane cracker at the same site, the source said.
The start-up of the new cracker could take place in November, the source added, without giving any reasons for the delay.
However, other market players said they expected the facility to come on stream in December or early 2010.
