HOUSTON (ICIS news)--The contract price of benchmark US Tampa ammonia for all October shipments rose 6% from September to $345/tonne (€235/tonne) CFR (cost and freight), sources involved in the negotiations said on Tuesday.
The October contract settlement between Yara, Mosaic and CF Industries represents a $20/tonne increase from the $325/tonne September price.
Supplies of ammonia in the US Gulf were tight in September ahead of an anticipated strong fall fertilizer application season.
The October price of $345/tonne was expected to be the peak for the season, sources said.
