LONDON (ICIS news)--Eurochem is to shut down its 18,000 tonne/year butyl acetate plant in Nevinnomyssk, Russia for planned maintenance at the end of October, a company source said on Friday.

“There is no set date yet, but the outage will start at the end of October and last for two weeks,” the source added.

All contractual commitments would be covered during this period.

This adds to news of INEOS shutting down its unit in Antwerp, Belgium in November.

Spot price assessments on 25 September were at €830-870/tonne ($1,203-1,261/tonne) FD (free delivered) NWE (northwest Europe), according to global chemical market intelligence service ICIS pricing, but firmed slightly in the week leading up to 2 October due to upstream cost pressures.
