HOUSTON (ICIS news)--Canadian fertilizer producer Potash One has started work on a feasibility study for a legacy potash solution-mining project in southern Saskatchewan, the company said on Monday.

To be completed in mid-2010, the study will provide an overview of all aspects of the project including land and mineral rights, processing, transportation and financial performance metrics, Potash One said.

The company’s legacy project includes 97,240 acres with an estimated measured resource of 251m tonnes of potassium chloride (KCL).

Saskatchewan-based Potash One has exploration permits that cover a total of 515,000 acres in Saskatchewan's potash-rich basin, northwest of Regina, which presently meets about one-third of the global demand for potash.
