LONDON (ICIS news)--Lithuania’s Neo Group has declared force majeure at one of its two polyethylene terephthalate (PET) lines in Klaipeda, Lithuania, due to technical problems, a company source said on Monday.

The cause of the problems were still being investigated and it was not yet known when the plant would restart.

“We hope to restart in October, but I don’t know,” the source said.

The Klaipeda facility originally ran into technical problems on 27 September, when one of its two lines was shut. Initial expectations were that the shutdown would last for two weeks, a company source said at the time.

It was not know when force majeure was declared at the line, which has a production capacity of almost 13,000 tonnes/year.
