MOVES: German chem union IG BCE elects Vassiliadis as new head

TORONTO (ICIS news)--IG BCE, Germany’s chemicals and energy union, has elected Michael Vassiliadis as its new head, it said on Tuesday.

Vassiliadis, who received 97% of the votes cast at IG BCE's delegates' congress in Hanover, succeeds Hubertus Schmoldt, who was not standing for re-election after leading one of Germany’s largest unions for 14 years.

IG BCE said the election of the 45-year-old Vassiliadis marked a new generation in its leadership.
