LONDON (ICIS news)--BASF has declared force majeure for certain Ultramid and Miramid compounds with immediate effect, the chemicals giant confirmed on Thursday.

On the weekend of 10/11 October, a malfunction occurred at a plant at BASF’s site in Ludwigshafen, Germany, that produces a formulation component used in several Ultramid and Miramid (polyamide 6 and polyamide 6.6) compounds.

Production at the plant is currently not expected to restart before the end of November 2009.
