HOUSTON (ICIS news)--US styrene butadiene rubber (SBR) producers plan to roll over their October contract prices into November if feedstock butadiene (BD) prices remain stable as expected, they said on Wednesday.
Prices for October SBR 1502 non-oil grade and 1712 oil-industrial grade product were 88.0-92.5 cents/lb ($1,940-2,039/tonne, €1,300-1,366/tonne) and 80-84 cents/lb, respectively, according to global chemical market intelligence service ICIS pricing.
“We know that at least one BD producer has agreed to a rollover for November, and we think others will, too. If we’re right, we’ll roll over our SBR prices for November,” a producer said.
Another SBR producer also said its November prices may roll over if there was no movement on the BD settlement.
Because BD is the main feedstock of SBR, any BD movement can affect the SBR contract, a producer said.
SBR producers include Goodyear, International Specialty Products (ISP), Lion Copolymer and Negromex.
