LONDON (ICIS news)--Industrial new orders in the EU fell by 22.3% year on year in August, while orders for chemicals dropped 21.0%, Europe's official statistics agency, Eurostat, said on Friday.
In the 16-member eurozone, industrial new orders in August declined by 23.1% year on year, while chemicals orders were down 21.6%.
Month on month, August chemicals orders remained unchanged in the 27-member EU and were down by 2.4% in the eurozone.
Compared with July, total industrial new orders in August rose by 1.2% in the EU and increased by 2.0% in the eurozone.
