LONDON (ICIS news)--Europe October acrylonitrile (ACN) contracts settled down by €15-20/tonne ($22-30/tonne) on weaker feedstock propylene values, buyers and sellers said on Friday.

This followed the €28/tonne fall in October propylene contract values. This would have led to a €31/tonne fall in ACN production costs, partially offset by firming ammonia costs, sources said.

October’s contract range was accordingly reassessed at €1,475-1,490/tonne FD (free delivered) NWE (northwest Europe), according to global chemical market intelligence service ICIS pricing.

Major European ACN producers include DSM, INEOS Nitriles and Lukoil.
