SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Thailand's PTT Phenol plans to shut its phenol and acetone plant in Map Ta Phut, Rayong province in mid-November for scheduled maintenance, a company source said late on Thursday.
The plant would be taken off line in the second week of November for a 7-10 day turnaround, the source said, adding that supplies to contract customers would not be affected although spot volumes would be limited.
The plant, which can produce 200,000 tonnes/year of phenol and 124,000 tonnes/year of acetone, was currently running at full rates to build up inventory, the source added.
