NOON SNAPSHOT - Americas Markets Summary

HOUSTON (ICIS news)--Here is Tuesday’s mid-day Americas oil and chemical market summary from ICIS pricing.

CRUDE: December WTI: $78.59/bbl, up 46 cents; December Brent: $77.12/bbl, up 57 cents
Crude prices rose to establish fresh intra-day high after hovering in negative territory during the early part of the session. The market was factoring in a strong dollar and weak equities but received a boost from speculative buying. WTI (West Texas Intermediate) topped out at $78.94/bbl before retreating.

NATURAL GAS: $4.849/MMBtu, up 2.5 cents
Natural gas futures prices gained with stronger crude and an improved economic outlook.

RBOB: $1.9950/gal, up 0.47 cents
Reformulated gasoline blendstock for oxygenate blending (RBOB) futures prices inched up alongside stronger crude values.

BENZENE: US spot benzene was unchanged at $2.71-2.81/gal FOB (free on board) USG (US Gulf) in a quiet marketplace.

ETHYLENE: The US spot ethylene market was higher at 31.50-33.50 cents/lb, in line with a 6 cent/gal jump in feedstock ethane values on Monday.

PROPYLENE: US spot refinery-grade propylene (RGP) was heard bid at 43.50 cents/lb, following a deal on Monday at 42.25 cents/lb.
