HOUSTON (ICIS news)--The US Chemical Safety Board (CSB) on Wednesday sent a six-member team to investigate an explosion and fire at a refinery in Utah, the agency said.
Silver Eagle Refining owns the facility, which is in Woods Cross, Utah.
An explosion in the refinery's diesel hydrotreater unit was felt several miles away, damaging nearby houses, the CSB said.
The board is also investigating a January flash fire at the same refinery, it said.
A spokeswoman for Silver Eagle did not immediately return a call for comment.
Four workers were sent to the hospital, according to a report published by Reuters. The refinery has a capacity of 10,500 bbl/day.To discuss issues facing the chemical industry go to ICIS connect
