NOON SNAPSHOT - Asia Markets Summary

SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Here is Friday’s mid-day Asia oil and chemical market summary from ICIS pricing.

CRUDE: Dec WTI $79.99/bbl, up 37 cents/bbl ; Dec BRENT $78.56/bbl, up 57 cents/bbl

Crude futures prices strengthened on Friday morning, buoyed by gains in Asian equity markets and upbeat US economic data. Meanwhile, traders still await the release of monthly US unemployment data later today.    

NAPHTHA: Asian naphtha prices opened stable Friday. Second-half December price indications were pegged at $681.50-684.50/tonne CFR (cost and freight) Japan, first-half January at $680.00-683.00/tonne CFR Japan and second-half January at $678.50-681.50/tonne CFR Japan.

BENZENE: Buy-sell indications for both December and January lots rose $5-12/tonne to $815-827/tonne FOB (free on board) Korea, while a sole bid for February emerged at $815/tonne FOB Korea but attracted no selling interests.

TOLUENE: Offers for December loading were at $800/tonne FOB Korea, against higher bids of $790/tonne FOB Korea compared to Thursday’s close. Bids for January lifting cargoes gained $5/tonne to $790/tonne FOB Korea but offers could not be traced.
