PRAGUE (ICIS news)--Zaklady Azotowe Pulawy (ZAP) is looking to enter the specialty polymers market, Poland's largest fertilizer producer said on Friday.
ZAP's Science Materials project was at an advanced stage of research into how the company could establish production units for products such as biodegradable plastics and fire-retardant plastics, it added.
The products should be based on the latest advances in science, the company's strategy and development department said.
ZAP is also a producer of melamine, caprolactam and diesel emissions lowering agent AdBlue.
The Polish treasury minister intends to privatise the company by the end of 2010. Analysts say it should be an attractive target as it has high cash reserves.
