ICIS pricing launches new Propylene Daily Asia price report

ICIS pricing, the leading price reporting service for the global chemical industry, is extending its commitment to bringing up-to-date market information to customers by launching a new Propylene Daily Asia report.

Propylene prices remain volatile, making it a challenging environment for negotiations between buyers and suppliers. The uncertainty surrounding commodity prices makes it almost impossible to predict what business conditions will be like through to the first half of 2010.

“With the launch of the Propylene Daily Asia report, ICIS pricing continues to provide industry players with up-to-date, concise yet comprehensive pricing information,” said Steve Tan, Managing Editor, ICIS pricing. “We are excited to launch a service that will help industry players compete globally and function efficiently in these challenging times.”

Given that naphtha cracker operators in Asia have adopted a highly flexible operating rate, demand supply balances are highly changeable, adding to volatility, he added. Cost pressures from daily naphtha fluctuations, variable demand supply balances and daily changes in domestic Chinese pricing also provide the impetus for daily information on propylene.

The Propylene Daily Asia report provides CFR SE Asia, NE Asia and FOB NE Asia price assessments, capturing deals and market conditions in the key regions. This will be the second daily report launched by ICIS pricing, after the Ethylene Daily Asia report.

ICIS is the leading benchmark for propylene purchasing contracts used by some of the largest suppliers and purchasers around the world. The industry has recognised the importance of having ICIS pricing reports as an independent and unbiased source of intelligence to help them in their business decisions.
